The world will never be the same. The COVID-19 pandemic assures it. As I shelter in place, I notice that there have been some good things that have come from it. Though most of us have been in self-isolation, I have been heartened by the sense of community rallying for those in need. I appreciate the evening walks with my daughter in our quiet neighborhood which is normally bustling. Air and noise pollution has diminished. We have pressed a global pause button on this fast-paced life, which gives perspective as to what matters.
I was thrilled to join hundreds of other Iyengar yoga practitioners for Manouso’s first ever online yoga class. It was like returning home. My fellow teachers said they cried so hard. He didn’t advertise. The word got out. Proceeds are going to his teachers at the Abode. Manouso Manos embodies the teachings of BKS Iyengar like no other.
